Chris Christie Reportedly Lost 100 Pounds After Surgery

Battle Of The Bulge?

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has reportedly lost around 100 pounds following a successful lap band surgery. Pundits are speculating that the governor is losing the weight in order to be better suited for a possible presidential election battle.

Governor Christie’s recent speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference recently was well-received by an audience of mostly younger conservative voters. The Jersey governor is widely seen by many to be a frontrunner for the political nomination in spite of his fall from grace due to the “Bridgegate” scandal, which saw Christie as the target of a probe that may prove he was responsible for vindictive lane closures. Governor Christie has denied any knowledge of the scandal.

Although Christie’s star may have faded temporarily, his chief rivals for the position, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul have come forward to take leading positions in recent polls. If the nomination competition were between Bush and Paul, it would be a clear case of the establishment vs. the grassroots. The outcome of that potential battle is too early to decide but if Governor Christie continues his stunning weight loss, the renewed energy and the great personal accomplishment of it could help put him back in the lead.
