Chicago woman ticketed over Facebook post (VIDEO)

Law enforcement personnel in Will County, Chicago appear to have found a creative way to issue tickets: catch people admitting to infractions on Facebook.

A local woman discovered as much after she posted to a Facebook page dedicated to Will County’s Whalon Lake Dog Park. The woman, who did not have a license to use the dog park, received a citation in the mail.

“We did issue a citation to a woman based on her Facebook post,” forest preserve spokesperson Cindy Cain has confirmed.

“The only reason we were monitoring the group is because of the complaints of kennel cough [a disease affecting local dogs]. When we saw her post about visiting the dog park without buying a permit, it was our responsibility to respond.”

The citation carried a $50 fine.
