A Chicago father and son shot at each other after an argument about walking the dog escalated, Chicago authorities announced Sunday.
The father, 43, and son, 22, could not agree over who was supposed to walk the family dog early Sunday morning, reports the Chicago Tribune. The argument turned violent when the father and son began shooting at each other in the streets of their Burnside neighborhood .
Double shooting at 9100 S Woodlawn was a fight btw father & son as to who was going to walk the dog. Both shot at each other.

The son died from the shooting, while the father sustained serious injuries from the altercation. Authorities took both to the Advocate Christ Medical Center; the son was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The father remains in critical condition.
The violence in Chicago has gone done in 2017 when compared to the city’s exceptionally violent year in 2016. So far, homicides have dropped almost ten percent compared to last year and shootings have gone down about thirteen percent.
Despite the drop, 2017 still remains one the most violent in the past seventeen years.
Thirty-seven people were murdered in March, while 168 shooting incidents occurred and 209 people were the victims of shootings.
“There’s not room for celebration yet, but I am encouraged by the numbers that we saw,” Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said about the statistics.
