How Can You Tell When The “News” Is Really Government Propaganda? (VIDEO)

CBS recently featured a segment on their “news” show 60 Minutes which was essentially a glowing review of the NSA’s domestic spying programs. The piece was hosted by “investigative reporter” John Miller, who started with full disclosure by stating that he once worked in the office of the Director of National Intelligence. The theory was that the critics have had their chance to air their grievances against the NSA. 60 minutes believed that it was time to give the NSA their chance to defend themselves.

But that is not how journalism is supposed to work.

Miller is an on again-off again journalist/police spokesman. His stints of reporting have been punctuated by police work. He was at one time the chief spokesman for the NYPD and is set to reprise that role again under incoming Commissioner Bill Bratton. It is totally ludicrous to believe that this government mouthpiece would give us an objective report on whether the behavior of the NSA is in any way warranted, or constitutional.
