California Will Now Offer Free Healthcare to Undocumented Children

Approximately 170,000 undocumented children will now receive healthcare thanks to a new law in California. The bill, entitled the “Health for All Act,” will extend the state’s Medicaid program to all children regardless of legal status. Many citizens are outraged at the state’s decision, citing that the current system provides for it’s own children poorly enough as it is.

The bill was authored by Sen. Ricardo Lara, who did so out of sympathy for undocumented families.

 “Growing up in L.A. to two undocumented parents, who lived over ten years as undocumented immigrants, I understand first hand the plight that many of these undocumented families go through,”

Unfortunately for the working people of the Golden State, Sen. Lara apparently does not understand the plight the increasingly burdened taxpayers of California are put through every year. Once more and more people fill up the medical centers we all visit, longer wait times, poorer service and higher taxes are sure to follow. But Sen. Lara isn’t worried about that. He makes over $100k a year, after all.

Who’s going to be paying for the nearly $132 million in annual expenses this will cost? If you’re a taxpayer, look no further than the mirror.

Sen. Lara plans to fight to extend free MediCal to all undocumented citizens as well. Currently, there are two million undocumented immigrants in California. That is more than any state in the nation.
