BREAKING: White House Denies Senator Durbin’s Allegations Against Republicans

Pants On Fire

The White House issued a statement today that the recent allegations made by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) “did not happen”. Senator Durbin stated that a House Republican said they “cannot even stand to look at him” to President Barack Obama. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R) each claimed to have no recollection of the event occurring.

Boehner’s office submitted a statement today on word of the news:

“Senator Durbin’s accusation is a serious one, and it appears to have been invented out of thin air. The senator should disclose who told him this account of events, retract his reckless allegation immediately, and apologize.”

The Washington Post reported that a spokesman from the senator’s office said, “Senator Durbin stands by his comments.”

Illinois State Senator Jim Oberweis announced shortly after that he will be running to replace Senator Durbin.
