A couple in Maryland Heights, Missouri complained to restaurant owners after receiving a receipt that had “Black Couple” written in the description at the top.

The waitress has since been fired.

The couple was also angry at the non-itemized $1.50 charge, which turned out to be for the double-shot of liquor they requested for their drink.

The owner of the Patrick’s Westport Grill, Patrick Hanon, was quick to make an apology for the incident on Facebook.

The restaurant has also said that they have removed the option to label receipts from their computer system.

Yeah, how dare you call a black couple a black couple! Or a white couple a white couple! Actually, that’s probably okay. And toss in a white privilege up-charge while you’re at it.
