A new political action committee called Liberty In Pink is on the scene, and they’re on a mission to find female candidates for public office. Executive Director Melissa Denker says that the organization isn’t just looking for anyone though. Liberty In Pink is targeting their approach to find ladies who want to run for office on a non-traditional type of platform.
Their website reads: “Our goal is straightforward – develop female leaders who find liberty-oriented solutions to our nations pressing issues. We will take the bold steps necessary to achieve this dream and create a new narrative through the election process in the United States. To find women to give voice and fresh perspective to public office that is not bound solely to party agenda. We are focused on closing the gender inequality gap by investing in women who are passionate about the principles that empower them. This is more important and much deeper than simply electing more women to office. This is about creating an environment for females to take their ambition and make an impact in our nation.”
Denker says she doesn’t care what party line the ladies they recruit run on. It isn’t about Republicans or Democrats, it’s about ideas. Whatever party the candidates choose to run as, they can do so. It’s a non-traditional type of approach, but with the mess of politics that we’re currently in, perhaps this is just the right approach that’s needed to shake up the establishment. Do you agree?
