Authorities Bust 13 Fort Hood Soldiers In Prostitution Sting

Authorities have busted 20 people in a prostitution sting conducted over a couple of weeks, 13 of whom are active-duty Fort Hood soldiers ranging in rank from private to major.

Law enforcement from Bell County, Texas, coordinated with the McLennan County Sheriff’s Department to post online prostitution advertisements, in an effort to attract men willing to pay up, Army Times reports.

Those who responded to the ads ended up texting to confirm price and location, at which point the men who meet an undercover female deputy at one of two hotels. As soon as the men walked inside the hotel room door, they would be arrested by authorities for solicitation of prostitution.

“Allegations such as these are taken seriously as they run counter to Army values,” Tom Rheinlander, director of Fort Hood Public Affairs, told KWTX.

“As always, we are supportive of local authorities and will cooperate fully. Fort Hood will refrain from commenting further given that this is an ongoing investigation,” Rheinlander said.

Apparently, authorities posted the ads on the dark web.

“We’re certainly putting everyone on notice that this kind of activity will not be tolerated here in bell county Texas,” Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange said.

“We want everyone to know that you don’t know that you don’t know who you are talking to on the other end of that computer or the other end of your phone while texting and it could very well be the police,” Lange added.
