Donald Trump is an Adele fan. Unfortunately for him, the singer is not so keen about his using her music to campaign. Trump has been playing the chorus to Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ at the end of his speech’s to ramp up his supporters.
“We could’ve had it all!” belted out soulfully by Adele certainly grabs one attention, but the popular singer and her fans object.
“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning,” her spokesperson said.
The news comes as relief to fans who were concerned Adele had been paid by or supported Trump.
Trump also used Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ when he announced his candidacy. But he hasn’t been the only candidate to try and tie themselves to Adele’s popularity. Mike Huckabee made an awful parody of her new hit song ‘Hello’ for the Iowa Caucuses– the video has been pulled down for copyright infringement.
