Friendly Org to Speaker Ryan Putting Pressure on House Freedom Caucus Constituents Over House Obamacare Replacement Plan

The Hill is reporting that a group allied with Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and the rest of House GOP leadership is launching a massive robocall effort to get skeptical conservatives on board with the proposal to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

The American Action Network is reported to be targeting 30 House districts represented by House Freedom Caucus members. An accusation that is not hard to believe as it was only a week ago that the AAN was running television ads pressuring HFC members to fall in line with the American Health Care Act.

“The legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare is coming up for a vote very soon,” the robocall script reads, according to the Hill.

“Please contact your Congressman [Name] at [Phone Number] and tell him to join you in supporting President Trump and Speaker Ryan’s plan to repeal Obamacare and replace it with the American Health Care Act.”

The Hill explained that the lawmakers whose constituents will get the robocalls include Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and other members like Reps. Justin Amash (Mich.), Raúl Labrador (Idaho), Jim Jordan (Ohio), Mark Sanford (S.C.), Mo Brooks (Ala.) and Louie Gohmert (Texas).

“We are calling activists across the country to urge them to call their member of Congress to ensure they do the right thing and stand with President Trump and Speaker Ryan in repealing this failed law,” Corry Bliss, American Action Network’s executive director, said in a statement on Thursday, reports the Hill.
