A Bunch Of Ivy League Students Happily Sign Fake Petition To Ban Valentine’s Day

Students at Cornell University eagerly signed a fake petition to ban Valentine’s Day, according to a Wednesday video.

The Ivy League students in New York signed a petition to ban Valentine’s Day because of the holiday’s offensiveness to students not in a relationship, as seen in a Campus Reform video.

“I would also point out the administration is really heteronormative about [Valentine’s Day] which is kinda f*cked up,” said one student.

“That’s really nice of you,” “that’s really awesome,” and “that’s totally fair” made up responses from other students signing the petition.

One student said that, while she was in a relationship, she understood the petition to ban Valentine’s Day at Cornell. Another one suggested that candy grams make “people feel like they don’t have friends.”

Campus Reform got 22 signatures in an hour at Cornell; only three individuals refused to sign the petition.

Valentine’s Day typically does not elicit as much campus outrage as other holidays like Halloween and Christmas, however it has still formed the crux of controversies in recent years, such as a 2017 handing out of Hitler-themed Valentine’s Day cards at Central Michigan University.
