Thatcher was a conservative voice when it was least popular to state the obvious truth. Still, because of her tact and her willingness to be unpopular, she was able to take England out of its darkest periods and save the nation from total economic collapse. She knew in her heart that the fiscally responsible virtues she held were ultimately true.
