5 Reasons Russia Bombing ISIS Is Good

By R. Brownell

5. The Fight In Their Own Backyard

Let’s take this in for a moment– many Americans are upset that Putin’s display of force may be leading to more Russian military involvement in the Middle East. OK, but why not? Russia is in a line of immediate geographic threat since it shares the same land mass as the rapidly expanding military forces of ISIS coming out of Syria and Iraq, whereas the US is separated by these Jihadist massacres by an entire ocean. Does it not make sense for Russia to be concerned with the ISIS threat and take any action? Would America not get involved in military operations in South or Central America if something akin to ISIS occurred? Trick question, the US military is already everywhere dealing with things that are not even immediate threats to national security.

4. Someone Needs To Kill These Monsters

I love when I hear people say, “someone needs to do something about ISIS!” or We need to do something about it!” I have a great freaking idea, how about you grab a gun and go over there yourself? Why do we have to force our military to fight a conflict on behalf of a nation like Syria, where instead of staying to fight, thousands of men are running away to Europe? For the neocons out there, rejoice, because someone is taking on ISIS, no need to be upset because they don’t speak English. You want to end the violence? Vlad is going to do it.

3. Not Our Problem

America made this problem, and usually I would say it’s the responsible thing to clean up your messes, but come on, nothing good has ever come from meddling in the Middle East. The true question at this point should be whether or not we want to permanently tie this ball and chain to ourselves and continue to send Americans over there to appear as some kind of sick, politically motivated sacrifice.

2. Fear Of The Russian Bear

Putin takes what Putin wants, but should we really fear Russian involvement in the region? The Russians failed to take out the Taliban when they were the premier geopolitical threat in the world, what better luck do they have at killing this radical threat then we had?

1. Watch and Learn

After nearly two decades of perpetual war, perhaps its time to truly once again see the costs of war on another country, and if Putin were to get more involved military, witness overseas the devastating impact war in the Middle East has when foreign powers try to take on an unpredictable, insane Islamic force that wants other nations to come spill their blood, strength, and treasure.
