No Rest for the Wicked: Less Than 48 Hours After Orlando, Islamist Strikes Again

Blood began to flow again in France before it could even dry in America. Just days later in the late hours of Monday night a French jihadist, Larossi Abballa age 25, who had claimed loyalty to ISIS, just as the Orlando jihadist had, ambushed and killed a local deputy chief of police with a knife outside his home in the town of Magnanville. Afterwards, he made his way into the home and barricaded himself inside where he stabbed to death the deputy chief’s significant other  and contemplated what he should do to the couples three year old son he had taken hostage on a live camera feed. Thankfully after the police arrived and shot the terrorist the boy was found unharmed.

Larossi, like Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen, was also under surveillance by the French national government. He had previously served time in prison for attempting to recruit Islamic fighters to aid in terrorist activities in Pakistan.

This sadly comes in the wake of the tragedy in Orlando, and will likely see little reporting from the main stream press. As it flies in the face of two of the main talking points; one, that Orlando had nothing to do with Islam and 2, that gun control is the answer. Seeing that this man was clearly motivated by Islamic teachings (reports from eye witness of the Chief Deputy’s stabbing report hearing the terrorist yelling “Allah Akbar!”) and was able to kill even without the aid of a gun.

This also comes at a time when France is still on high alert, in a state of emergency that has been in place since the Paris terrorist attack in November, where Islamist killed more than 130 at the Bataclan concert hall. This attack will likely lead to the continuation of  the state of emergency that is denying yet another one of the world’s civilized Western nations the peace it deserves. A peace that will almost certainly not be recovered until the root of the issue, Islamic radical jihadism, is acknowledged and addressed by Western world leaders.
