Time Capsule From Sam Adams and Paul Revere Unearthed

A time capsule which was buried in 1795 in the cornerstone of the Boston state house might have been laid there by patriots Samuel Adams and Paul Revere. The capsule is supposed to contain old coins, an engraved silver plate, newspapers and other materials.

Secretary of State and Chairman of the state’s Historical Commission Bill Galvin said “We know what is supposed to be in it, we don’t know in fact if it’s still in good condition because of the container whether there was any damage done.”

The capsule has been taken to the Museum of Fine Arts to be x-rayed while construction on the state house continues.
