Throwback Thursday: Guess How Hillary Clinton Felt About Gay Marriage in 2004?

By: Laura Meyers

Well, folks, its Thursday, so we’re going to throw it back and shake things up a little. Here’s video to for all your progressive buddies who pant over Hillary Clinton that shows her railing against gay marriage:

Her views on the issue seem to evolve synonymously with her exposure underneath the political spotlight.

In 2014, during and interview with NPR, Clinton flopped from her 2004 views when she said “For me, marriage had always been a matter left to the states. And in many of the conversations that I and my colleagues and supporters had, I fully endorse the efforts by activists who work state-by-state and in fact that is what is working.”

But just last week it was stated that, “Hillary Clinton supports marriage equality and hopes the Supreme Court will come down on the side of same-sex couples being guaranteed that constitutional right,” said Adrienne Elrod, a spokesperson for the Clinton campaign.

So in a matter of a decade, she has gone from strongly opposing gay marriage, to the issue being up to the states, to a constitutional right. Anything for a vote or genuine change?
