Remember Pace Picante Salsa commercials? In the famous commercials, Texans would discover that their salsa was made in New York City, causing them to recoil in horror — even going as far to suggest hanging the man who brought it.
Cruz has been said to have an audio-graphic memory and has been known to demonstrate his knack for impersonations. While sitting down with Megyn Kelly for his face to face with the candidates in Texas, Cruz evoked the famous ad and impersonated the actors.
“New York City?!? Get a rope!” Cruz joked. The Texas crowd got the reference and laughed.
