Student Arrested After Attacking Teacher Who Confiscated His Phone

PATERSON, N.J. – A student was arrested at JFK High School in New Jersey after he physically attacked his teacher for confiscating his phone during class.

The 9th grader was charged with third-degree aggravated assault and was suspended from school. Video of the event shows the student violently slamming the teacher into a corner. Remarkably, the teacher didn’t fight back, likely out of fear of losing his job. None of the other students stepped in to help either.

“What strikes me is that the teacher never even defended himself,” Lee McNulty, a retired JFK teacher said. “That just shows how much teachers are afraid of losing their job.”
