South African Cops Beat And Terrorize Bar Patrons (VIDEO)

MPUMALANGA, SOUTH AFRICA –  Police officers were caught on CCTV violently attacking tavern goers, beating them with sticks and pouring alcohol all over them. Footage obtained by the Daily Sun tells the story of cops terrorizing the patrons who were enjoying drinks and games of pool. Cops stomped on people with their heavy boots, while another officer pours alcohol on people. The attack is believed to have occurred on October 26th 2012, but the victims were afraid and did not come forward until November 3rd. The incident was only revealed after another event occurred where police shot at a random vehicle, triggering an independent inquiry that allowed this tape to surface.

Provincial police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala told the Sun that questions should be directed towards the Independent Police Investigative Directorate. Police spokesman, Moses Dlamini, claims to have no knowledge on the matter. “I can’t comment as I know nothing about the incident. I will check the docket and if the case has been opened, we will investigate,” said Dlamini.
