Sen. Coburn explains why he called Harry Reid an a**hole (VIDEO)

“My words were inappropriate, buy my frustrations were real.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning to explain why he called the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) an “absolute a**hole”.

Fox host Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Coburn, “What is it about Harry Reid that makes you so uncomfortable?” Coburn responded, that the senate is “not doing what it’s supposed to do.”

He added, “My words were inappropriate, but my frustrations are real. Our Founders designed the Senate to force consensus, and you can’t force consensus if you don’t allow amendments and you don’t allow people voices to be heard.”

Sen. Coburn is otherwise a very even keeled man, so for him to lash out should send a strong message.

I am still wondering how Harry Reid’s son failed to win the governorship of Nevada while his father won re-election to the Senate seat in the same election.

Supposedly the “Reid” name was so toxic in 2010 that the Rory Reid purposely avoided his surname to distance himself from the senior senator. I am sure that Harry is needed so badly to be the chief obstructionist in the Senate that the election was guaranteed for him. Godfather II anyone?
