According to a recent congressional testimony, it seems as if Secretary of Defense James Mattis differs from President Trump by not only believing in climate change, but also that it is a national security threat.

In the unpublished written testimony given for the Senate Armed Services Committee, Mattis remarked,

“Climate change is impacting stability in areas of the world where our troops are operating today.”

He continued with regard to the military considering the outcomes of climate change in certain regions,

“It is appropriate for the Combatant Commands to incorporate drivers of instability that impact the security environment in their areas into their planning.”

In the video below President Trump speaks to Bill O’Reilly about climate change.
