Ron Paul: Feds May Return With Reinforcements (VIDEO)

Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto to discuss the de-escalated standoff with Cliven Bundy in Nevada. Paul recounts how he’s glad that the situation is defusing but he worries that the feds will return with more reinforcements.

The latest at the Bundy is that the feds have backed off and released the cattle which they had previously confiscated. U.S. Bureau of Land Management Director Neil Kornze claimed that they backed down to avoid any violence that could have occurred, however he also stated that they would pursue the nearly $1 million that is owed for grazing rights that Bundy has allegedly refused to pay over the last decade. Bundy refuses to recognize federal ownership of the land that he claims belongs to the state of Nevada.

Nevada Senator Harry Reid has claimed that “this isn’t over. We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over.”

Arizona state representative David Livingston (R) commented on the situation saying that the federal government should cede the Western lands to the states so that they can sell them. “I took an oath,”  he said. “That oath is to protect the people. The government’s out of control, and the federal government is not protecting the people.”

On Monday afternoon Cliven Bundy addressed the crowds of supporters. “Every county sheriff across the United States: Take the guns away from the United States bureaucrats,” Bundy said.
