A Poltergeist Under Couple’s Bed Was Actually A Knife-Wielding Meth Head

A couple in Seattle was shocked to find out that what they at first believed to be a poltergeist living under their bed, actually turned out to be a knife-wielding meth head.

Brian O’Neill and his wife Bridget came home one day to see that their condo had been ripped apart. Their mail was ripped open and a paint can was overturned into their toilet as well as all of their doorknobs were covered in lotion. The couple also found all of their clothes scattered on the floor and a mound of electronics piled onto their bed. Still, despite all the devastation, nothing had been stolen.

Police were called and were baffled by the scene. Authorities determined that an intruder must have come in through the window but no fingerprints were found. A purse owned by a 27-year-old woman was found, however. Authorities left after 45 minutes.

“We didn’t feel threatened, but we were somewhat disturbed,” Brian O’Neill said. “It was a really weird experience.”

Then suddenly, the couple began to hear strange noises coming from underneath their bed. They described it as something like the sound of a dying animal. Something alive began to stir under the mattresses. “It was a noise coming from something alive,” Brian said. “It sounded like a dying possum or raccoon. I had only heard wounded animals make that kind of noise before.”

At first Bridget believed it may have been one of their cats, Mogwai and Gizmo, but this was no familiar gremlin to the couple. The animal noises grew louder and then they heard fierce scratching coming from under the bed. The couple fled and called police again.

When officers arrived they began a thorough search of the apartment, emerging minutes later with a crazy-eyed woman who had spent the last two hours hiding under the couple’s bed.

“When I saw that it was a woman, my reality suddenly kind of shifted,” says Brian O’Neill. “My wife pretty much collapsed on the stairwell.”

The woman had apparently been on a meth rampage for several days, hiding under the couple’s bed during a rabid bout of paranoia. She had been hiding under the bed carrying a long kitchen knife and locks of her blond hair were everywhere. A hypodermic needle was also found in the bed sheets.

“Rather than use the knife to pop out and murder us, she was using the knife to deconstruct the box springs of the bed,” Bridget said. “Honestly, I feel kind of bad for her. This woman was so tiny and not together, it’s hard to be mad. If you describe yourself as being on a meth rampage, you’re probably in bad shape. I feel like regular old meth is bad enough.”

Brian and Bridget have no plans to move but will reportedly be getting a new mattress.
