Orrin Hatch Mocks PETA By Sending Them Pictures Of Bacon

LISTEN TO TLR’S LATEST PODCAST:

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah tweeted pictures of bacon to PETA Thursday in response to a message the animal rights group sent challenging bacon-eaters to defend their dietary choices.

Hatch’s office responded to PETA’s challenge, which called on bacon lovers to “present [their] best argument for eating bacon, by tweeting pictures of the Senator shopping for bacon and enjoying a bacon cheeseburger at a fast food restaurant.

A number of journalists joined Hatch in taking a stand in defense of bacon. CNN political commentator Ben Ferguson and Wall Street Journal contributor Jon Gabriel kept their defense of bacon simple.

The journalists’ abbreviated responses were effective but failed to match Hatch’s hands on commitment to bacon.
