Obamacare Hurting Volunteer Firefighters (VIDEO)

PICKAWAY TWP, OH – Volunteer firefighters in the Pickaway Township of Ohio are feeling the pinch from Obamacare due to requirements that force health insurance to be provided if they work a certain amount of hours. The IRS has classified volunteer firefighters as employees, meaning they fall under the mandate.

Volunteer emergency firefighters had asked for an exemption and some legislators are offering language to tweak the Affordable Care act in order to protect emergency service crews. 70% of firefighters in the state of Ohio are volunteers.
