Does Obama govern out of fear of assassination?

Bill Maher and his panel of guests debated why President Barack Obama isn’t the radical leftist they hoped he would be. Maher bemoaned his centrism and complained that he isn’t very ‘liberal’.

Chris Matthews sat on the panel and claimed that it was an ‘amazing’ statement for Maher to make and insinuated that the host believed that the president governed “out of fear of assassination”. Maher replied, “I think that’s something that probably he thinks about at night, yeah.”

The guests broke down why Obama hasn’t been able to accomplish bringing the country together. James Glassman, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute claims that it was because the president rammed through his Affordable Care Act, without broad support from the American people. He also stated that Bill Clinton passed legislation that had more public support and that is why Clinton was more effective at bringing the country together.

Fascinating discussion that is 6:27 long.
