Muslim Soccer Team Refuses To Continue Game After Female Players Started Beating Them

Muslim boys high school soccer team refuses to play against team with 2 girls on it, girls sit out.

A boys high school soccer team from ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) Private Islamic High School refused to finish a match against another team because they had two female players.

Robert F. Hall Catholic School, from Caledon Ontario does not have a girls soccer team, so the 2 females were allowed to join the boys senior team. The move was approved by the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA).

During halftime, the ISNA Islamic High School team talked to the referee about not wanting to continue. The Islamic team was losing by this point, 3-1.

The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations, South Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association and ROPSSAA have the same gender rule:

“If a sport activity is not available for a female on a girls’ team, she is eligible to participate on a boys’ team following a successful tryout.”

The Islamic Private High School should have informed themselves of the rules.

The 2 girls on the Catholic school team insisted they sit out for the second half of the game so that the match could continue. The Islamic team should have forfeited, to be fair.

The match continued and the Islamic team lost 6-1. Both teams will still be advancing to the next round and there is a chance they might face each other again.

Essa Abdool-Karim, the coach of the ISNA High School soccer team, said “We were a little bit caught off guard because we assumed it was a senior boys league and exclusively for boys.” He continued, “Free mixing is generally something we do not do, more so out of respect than anything.”

“We want them to understand this balance between religion and having to sacrifice the sport you love is a difficult situation,” Abdool-Karim said. He added that they want inclusion for all and are trying to find a solution to this problem.

The solution is very simple however, forfeit any matches where you have a problem competing against another team.

In our society we do freely mix because we believe in this quaint little idea called equality for all.

This may be a good time to point out the social justice hierarchy:

Muslims > minority gays > white gays > minority heterosexuals (male & female) > white women > animals > white men

So the Islamic team has a good chance of working something out in their favor.

I sincerely hope no accommodations are made for them though, and am surprised ROPSSAA didn’t immediately cater to their wants.

I like to imagine the reason they waited until halftime to issue their ‘concerns’ is because they were losing to a team that had, according to their beliefs, inferior girls. The score showed otherwise.

If the ISNA team doesn’t like the rules they can leave the league and play with themselves, something they’ll have to get used to if they don’t like interacting with girls.
