Man Sues Company For Allegedly Finding Rat “Marinating” In His Beer

A Texas man has filed a lawsuit against MillerCoors and 7-Eleven because he says he drank a beer that had a “dead rat marinating in it” two years ago.

Interesting fermentation technique ya got there, guys.

In August 2013 Marco Antonio Navarro allegedly bought a 24-ounce can of Steel Reserve beer from a 7-Eleven store, and when he got home, cracked open one of the cans and started drinking, he discovered a problem.

 He reported he soon felt a “tingle on his lips and noticed the liquid was not flowing out properly.”

The man’s sister used his phone to get a better look inside the can and saw the “dead rat marinating in it.”

Navarro “immediately vomited, then continued to suffer from abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, allergies, and back pain, amongst other pain and injuries,” the report states.

I don’t know what allergies has to do with drinking rat fluid, but gross.

Navarro received medical treatment that cost over $49,000, according to reports, and sought the help of a therapist after reporting having trouble eating, drinking and maintaining personal relationships.

Okay hold up. Have you been telling your girlfriends about drinking the rat beer, Navarro? Because that’s the only reason your experience would prevent you from “maintaining personal relationships.”

Don’t get too carried away.

Almost two years after the event, Navarro is suing to recover the cost of his medical treatment, damages due to past and future pain, mental anguish and loss of earning capacity up to but not more than $300,000.

MillerCoors released a statement that says:

“Our brands are produced under incredibly strict standards, and there is nothing more important than the quality of our products and safety of our legal drinking-age consumers.  While we take all customer claims seriously, we do not believe there is any merit to the lawsuit.”

Either way, I’m now keeping an eye on my drinks for two reasons: roofies and rats.
