Man Charged With Impersonating Officer After Painting His $100K Maserati Black & White

maseratiPolice in Braintree, Massachusetts issued a summons to a man for impersonating a police officer after they spotted his $100,000 Maserati, which was painted black and white.

Braintree Deputy Police Chief Wayne Foster reported that the owner of the vehicle was stopped when they spotted his car, which was allegedly made to look like a police cruiser. The Italian luxury car was painted black and white and read “DECEPTICONS: Punish And Enslave” on the side.

From the Patriot Ledger:

Foster said the car “was made to look like a police cruiser,” with the body painted black and white, a police-style shield on the doors, and decals for 911, K-9 and speed enforcement. He said the only thing the car didn’t have was police-style blue lights on the top.

The owner of the vehicle has not been identified, but he claimed that he thought he was doing a public service “because other drivers noticed him and slowed down, thinking it was a police vehicle.”

The vehicle owner’s court date hasn’t been set yet.
