Libertarian Senate candidate Augustus Sol Invictus is making bizarre headlines after the chairman for the Libertarian Party of Florida, Adrian Wyllie, called attention to Invictus’s questionable activities in an effort to persuade other party leaders to decry him.
Journeying on foot, Invictus apparently traveled roughly 2000 miles from central Florida to the Mojave desert in California, spending a week fasting and praying for survival. Upon his return to Florida, Invictus slaughtered and drank the blood of a goat as part of a pagan ritual to give thanks.
Invictus admits to his participation in the ritual, stating,
“‘I did sacrifice a goat. I know that’s probably a quibble in the mind of most Americans […] I sacrificed an animal to the god of the wilderness […] Yes, I drank the goat’s blood’“.
He further goes on to admit to having been investigated by the FBI and U.S. Marshals and is convinced he is still being watched as a consequence of being outspoken about the government on his YouTube channel.
Wyllie also says Invictus is attempting to invite neo-Nazis to join the Libertarian Party, a claim Invictus contests; noting his four children are of Hispanic descent.
“He is the absolute exact opposite of a Libertarian. He’s a self-proclaimed fascist. He’s promoting a second civil war. It’s absolute insanity. We must explain to people this is the opposite of Libertarians. This guy has no place in the Libertarian Party“.
Invictus, whose name means “majestic unconquered sun”, has previously written of his desire to “wander into the wilderness and return bearing revolution”.
