Johnson at 27% with Millennials in Virginia, 15% Statewide

Johnson is Also Doing Well Among Military Households

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson is currently 2nd with millennials in Virginia, 7 percent behind Hillary Clinton, and ahead of Trump. He is 15 percent statewide, with Clinton leading with 39 percent and Trump at 33 percent. Independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin and Green Party nominee Jill Stein are tied for fourth at 3 percent.

The former New Mexico governor is also only one percent behind Trump when it comes to independent voters in Virginia, with 32 percent saying they would choose Trump and 31 percent saying they would back Johnson. The Libertarian however struggles with older voters, with only 10 percent saying they would back the Libertarian nominee.

Perhaps most surprisingly is that Johnson is receiving equal support from men and women with 15 percent of both sexes saying they would vote for him. Among white voters, the Libertarian received more support from white women, with 20 percent saying they would back him, as opposed to 15 percent of white men. Trump is tied with Clinton among white women, though 46 percent of all women said they would vote for Clinton.

Among military voters in Virginia, Trump leads the entire pack. In a head to head contest with Clinton alone, he is supported by 49 percent of military voters versus 39 percent backing Clinton.. But with Johnson, Stein, and McMullin as options, his numbers drop to 39 percent, with 32 percent backing Clinton, and 19 percent picking Johnson. A poll conducted by the Military Times/IVMF found the Libertarian at 36.5 percent with the military, nearly tied with Trump.

Johnson received less support from non-military voters than military voters in Virginia.

This is welcoming news for Johnson as this is the first poll this week that has him at 15 percent in a state. He was at 13 percent in Colorado, 12 percent in Maine, and 13 percent in Utah according to the last polls conducted.
