Johnson Gets into Squabble Before Cut Off by “Technical Difficulties”

by Josh Guckert

On Saturday morning, Gary Johnson appeared on America’s Election HQ on Fox News to discuss his candidacy. Unlike most interviews, the mood quickly became hostile. Tucker Carlson questioned Johnson and William Weld‘s libertarian bona fides, citing their records on carbon fees, gun control, and healthcare.

The Libertarian showed his recent streak of passion, defending he and his running mate’s records. He pointed out that he does not support a carbon fee (as reported by The Libertarian Republic). The conversation quickly became heated. The presidential candidate alleged that Carlson is repeatedly critical of his libertarian credentials. He also reaffirmed that the Libertarian ticket ardently opposes Obamacare.

He then articulated that he supports a “free market approach” to healthcare. Carlson cut off Johnson when then the former New Mexico’s governor’s feed stopped playing. The Fox panel called the satellite issue “what a shame” and claimed that they would attempt to have Johnson back on. However, the interview did not resume during the day’s episode. Fox News has yet to report whether they will have the Libertarian nominee back on the show to clarify the points he was trying to bring into the debate with Carlson.
