Following reports that John McCain, Republican senator from Arizona, had been admitted to the hospital for a blood clot comes even worse news. Doctors, amid the procedure to remove said blot clot, have diagnosed the decades long lawmaker with an aggressive type of brain tumor.
The Associated Press is reporting that McCain has glioblastoma, according to doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. The 80 year old senator initially went in to have a blood clot removed from above his left eye last Friday. He and his family are considering further treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation, explained the AP.
“Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot,” his office said in a statement.
Since the diagnosis, his daughter, Fox News contributor Meghan McCain, and many colleagues have taken to Twitter to express their grief over the diagnosis.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton called McCain a hero, and made sure to let everyone know not to “bet against” the former prisoner of war.
John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I've ever known. Cancer doesn't know what it's up against. Give it hell, John.

Unfortunately, not all are able to remove politics from humanity, as some with a superiority complex decided to utilize this awful news for political points.
John McCain is pretty ok with taking away everyone's health care so excuse me if i don't have a well of sympathy for his brain cancer. ????????♂️

According to the American Brain Tumor Association, more than 12,000 people a year are diagnosed with glioblastoma, the same type of tumor that struck McCain’s close Democratic colleague in legislative battles, the late Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts. The American Cancer Society puts the five-year survival rate for patients over 55 at about 4 percent, reports the AP.
McCain, in his true grit fashion, told fellow Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina that he has “been through worse,” and Graham explained that “The disease has never had a more worthy opponent,” Fox News reports.
