Jew Saved From Nazis By Christians, Now He’s Rescuing Christians From ISIS to “Repay Debt”

A Jewish man has “a debt to repay” to Christians feeling ISIS, because Quakers and the Plymouth Brethren help him escape the Nazi’s during WWII.

George Weidenfeld has launched the Weidenfeld Safe Havens Fund, which funded the flight of 150 Syrian Christians to Poland on a privately chartered plane last week to allow them to seek refuge from ISIS terrorists.

Weidenfeld was clothed and fed by Christians, and because to their support was able to escape the Nazi regime in an occupied Austria to Britain in 1938.

He is attempting to fund the rescue of nearly 2,000 Christians from Syria and Iraq in order to show his gratitude to members of the religion who had saved him.

 “I had a debt to repay. It applies to so many young people who were on the Kinderstransports. It was Quakers and other Christian denominations who brought those children to England,” said Weidenfeld. “It was very high-minded operation and we Jews should also be thankful and do something for the endangered Christians.”

However, there are critics of the project because it excludes Muslim victims who have been forced from their homes by ISIS and threatened with murder, enslavement or torture.

In defense of the criticism, Weidenfeld says, “I can’t save the world, but there is a very specific possibility on the Christian side. Let others do what they like for the Muslims.”
