Honor Roll Student Charged For Having Dad’s Fishing Knife In His Car (VIDEO, PETITION)

Common Sense Apparently Not That Common

CLARKSVILLE, TN – A high school student named David Duren-Sanner was suspended after his car was randomly searched by the sheriff’s department during a security lockdown. David had driven his father’s car to school that day and authorities found a fishing knife in the car. He was immediately suspended and will face charges as well as other forms of punishment.

David’s father is a commercial fisherman who often has his tools in his car. The knife apparently fell between two seats and David was unaware that it was even there. When the police approached David about the knife, he tried to explain that it wasn’t his but the officer said, ‘it doesn’t matter it was in your possession anyway.”

David is facing on appeal before the school board this Wednesday. He also faces weapons charges with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. The Duren-Sanner family is asking people to sign this petition to request that the suspension and charges against David be dropped.
