Government Forcing Senior Citizens Out Of Homes During Shutdown (VIDEO)

From Freedom To Fascism

NEVADA – Citizens of Lake Mead are scrambling this week to find living accommodations after the federal government determined they would have to leave their private homes because they sit on federal land.

77-year-old Joyce Spencer and her 80-year-old husband Ralph have been spending their time at the ice cream store, since they can’t go home. A park ranger showed up at their door one day and gave them 24 hours to leave.

“I had to go to town today and buy Ralph undershirts and jeans because I forgot his pants,” Joyce Spencer said. “I had to be sure and get his walker and his scooter that he has to go in,” Spencer said.

Their home may sit on federal land, but it’s still privately owned and it seems totally inhumane to make elderly people leave their homes in such a way. Park officials submitted a statement about the situation that read: “Unfortunately overnight stays are not permitted until a budget is passed and the park can reopen.”

Joyce and Ralph are staying nearby with family. Their properties are considered vacation homes and one of the requirements is they must have another resident. Still, it’s their property and they don’t believe they should be shut out of it.
