Girl helps her drunk friend! School punishes her! Lies about it in court! (VIDEO)

BOXFORD, MAErin Cox received a text message from her friend late one night, asking her to come and pick her up because she was drunk. When Cox arrived, police descended on the party, issuing her and 14 others a court summons for allegedly drinking.

Luckily for Cox, one officer at the party reportedly confirmed in writing to her family that she was sober that night. But her school, North Andover High, suspended her from playing volleyball for five games and stripped her title of team captain. And when Cox sued the school over it, they went to court to fight her… and lied about what happened.

“The school sent a lawyer there to defend the school,” said attorney Wendy Murphy. “And that lawyer said out loud to a judge — and it was a lie — that she was arrested.”

“I felt like going to get her was the right thing to do,” Cox said. “Saving her from getting in the car when she was intoxicated and hurt herself or getting in the car with someone else who was drinking. I’d give her a ride home”.
