Fox Business GOP Debate Has Lowest Viewship of All Debates

The GOP debate, hosted on Fox Business, had high ratings. However, it had the fewest views of all the GOP debates, according to Politico. The number of people who watched the FBN GOP debate was 11 million, which falls 2.5 million views short of November’s debate, which 13.5 million people watched. As for the free livestream of the debate, it peaked with 1.1 million concurrent viewers.

The ‘core news’ demographic of 25-54 year-olds made up three million of those watching the debate.

The undercard debate, which Rand Paul declined to attend, averaged 2 million total viewers. Out of this, 289,000 viewers were adults in the 25-54 years of age demographic.

It is important to note that while these were the lowest ratings compared with the other debates of this cycle, it still has more viewers than any debate in the 2012 election cycle. The debate was the second most watched program in Fox Business’s network history, just after last November’s debate. However, it is worth to note that is still around 2.5 million less than than last November’s.

The first GOP debate last August is still the highest rated, at 24 million.
