Donald Trump Jr, mentioning he missed the “frontline buzz” of politics, has apparently revealed to members of a private gun club he would like to follow his father into elected office, and that he did not believe the senate or house were for him. Instead, reports the Independent, he said he found he New York governorship attractive.

“Don Jr said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him,” a guest at the event told the newspaper, according to the Independent.

“Do I want to be behind the scenes and be a mouthpiece and fight back against crazy liberal media? Maybe. Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me,” said Trump Jr., reports the Independent.

According to the Independent Trump Jr. did not mention when he would attempt to contend for the governorship, however current Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, is up for re-election in 2018 and has been floated as an early contender for the presidency in 2020.
