MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said that the male initially refused medical aid but was forced to go to Columbia Presbyterian hospital since he was clearly emotionally disturbed.

Apparently the clearly disturbed citizen survived by laying down in the middle of the tracks after being seen on camera refusing help from several Good Samaritans who were trying to remove him from the tracks before ditching him as the train rolls into the station. Luckily no one was killed.

The video shows that the stereotype of the uncaring New Yorker just might be a myth, as the men who tried to save the victim appeared to try as hard as they could to save him, before escaping what could have been certain death. Good for you, gentlemen. A toast to your health and thank you for your courageous attempts.

What do you think? Would you have jumped down on the tracks to try and save him? Leave your comments below.
