A report from The Hollywood Reporter (THR) claims that Disney CEO Bob Iger is considering the nudges from friends to enter the presidential race for 2020, pending the 66 year old could find a replacement to head one of the World’s most successful companies.

THR that Iger told them in June that “a lot of people — a lot — have urged me to seek political office.” THR also explains that he has denied a run for California governor or senator, positions that historically have served as stepping stones to the White House, and while he did not mention a direct leap to the Oval Office at the time, THR’s sources add that he has since consulted with former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg about the prospects.

Iger, should he take the leap, does have many friends who run in prominent Democratic circles. In fact, THR explained that former Vice President Al Gore considers Iger on of his closest personal friends, and that many Democratic insiders would welcome a ticket headed by the entertainment mogul, pointing at the election of Donald Trump as reference that political experience is no longer needed to hold the lands highest office.

Iger could face a crowded Democratic field should he decided to throw his hat in, as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), former Vice President Joe Biden, former NY Mayor Andrew Cuomo, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) have all been rumored to vye for center stage.
