Dear Tomi Lahren: “Shut the Hell Up” About the Trump Tapes

Lahren

by Amber Loveshe

Alt-Right barbie doll Tomi Lahren is at it again, this week giving us the piece of her mind we never asked for. In her recent video, she weighed in on the recent “Trump tapes” controversy, and I was disappointed, yet not shocked at her ignorant opinion on the situation.

At first, Tomi started out promisingly, acknowledging that the situation was pretty ugly, and although she claims to have thought on this controversy all weekend, she fails to give a substantiated and logical response. But why am I not surprised?

Lahren appeals to her viewers by stating, “I know how many of you Trump supporters are feeling…it’s not that these recordings necessarily surprise you or even change your opinion of him, it just doesn’t look good.” Tomi spends the rest of her 3 minutes of rage whining about how the Democrats did this just to skew the election, that Trump isn’t perfect and we shouldn’t be surprised by what he has simply ‘said’ and not ‘done,’ and to all GOP elected officials pulling their support, “Wow. Just wow.”

Tomi, you say that, “this recording does not surprise me at all.” You remind us that we’re “once again forgetting why we, the voters, chose Trump.” Well Tomi, if all Trump voters knew why you were voting for Donald Trump, and this recording does not change that, why does it matter that the Democrats released this tape at all, let alone closer to the election? Surely if this does not change anything, the release itself shouldn’t be a big deal. After all, boys will be boys, right?

You go on to share, “I am far more bothered by what Hillary has done than by what Trump has said.” Of course, you will not acknowledge the fact that Trump’s tapes are of him discussing what he has done. Tomi will throw a tantrum on camera over Bill Clinton’s previous sexual history and Hillary’s relentless defending of her husband, yet Lahren avoids discussing Trump’s history at all in this short video and instead mimics HRC with her relentless defending of Trump.

But don’t worry Tomi, if an audio recording of an offender recounting his sexual assaults isn’t enough for you to admit that you are likely defending a serial rapist, a growing number of women are bravely coming forward with personal accounts of their trauma.

“Truth is, his leaked recording is a problem because of how it makes us feel, not how it impacts governance. Does it impact border security, national security, trade, jobs, spending or anything else that impacts your daily life?” Well I have a question for you Tomi: has sexual assault ever impacted you?
