D.C. Cop arrested after taking nude photos of 15-year-old while on duty (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Officer Marc Washington was supposed to be conducting an investigation into a missing persons report late Sunday night in D.C. Instead, an unnamed young girl that had previously been reported missing was coerced into taking off her bra and boxer shorts by the officer, who insisted he needed to take photos of her injuries. Despite stating that she wasn’t injured, Washington took several photos of the girl in her apartment, allegedly asserting it was “procedure,” WJLA reports. [contextly_sidebar id=”8b656e5ee4419444997c4d3208d05ef7″]

The young girl told her mother about the incident, and 911 was immediately contacted. Being in the police force, Washington was privy to the 911 dispatch and immediately started deleting the photos he had just taken. He didn’t delete enough of the illicit photos in time, and after being apprehended, police found more nude photos of young girls on his digital camera. He is now in custody.

This is sadly the latest story in a string of reports of the sexual deviance of police officers. Last week the story of a 19-year-old being raped by a San Antonio police officer made national news. When it’s taken into consideration that only 40% of sexual assaults go reported, and only 3% of rapists will ever serve a day in jail, this case may only just be the tip of the iceberg of Officer Washington’s perverted antics conducted behind the security of a police badge. When the police are supposed to protect and serve, but instead abuse their authority, why would any woman report it? Thankfully the females in this story found the courage to expose what type of figures are attracted by authority, and these officers are now being held accountable for their crimes so no other woman will have to experience what they did.

I know all too well the strength it takes to report an act like this. When I was 15-years-old… I was molested.

After it happened, I was informed that the man who had assaulted me had done it before to other women. That revelation spurred me to tell my mother what had happened, and the next few months were a blur of court cases and embarrassing statements. I endured it knowing that no one else would have to experience it, and I only wished that the women who had been molested by that man before me had been able to do the same. Women need to be made to feel unafraid to hold their attackers accountable, and to be assured that the perpetrator will be punished so they can stop slipping through the cracks. In my case, justice was served and the man who attacked me served jail time and is a registered sex offender. Hopefully more women will feel empowered enough to come forward if they have been abused.
