If More Cops Wore Cameras, Would Mike Brown Still Be Alive? [VIDEO]

President Obama and Eric Holder promised today to outfit police officers with body cameras. If Officer Darren Wilson had been wearing one, would Mike Brown still be alive?

Editor of The Libertarian RepublicAustin Petersen appeared on the Sun News Network with Pat Bolland to discuss the problems with Ferguson, racial profiling, and the law. The issues are, as Petersen sees it, twofold:

1. The law is perverted. When police are asked to enforce unjust laws, there will be injustice. Officers enforcing unconstitutional stop and frisks, checkpoints and other civil liberties violations are “just doing their job.” Exactly. It’s time to change their job. Change the law, and kill the injustice from the wellspring where it flows: the legislature.

Also, police in Rialto, California saw a sharp decline in complaints against officers, falling 88% since February of 2012. The use of force by officers collapsed by 60%. Clearly it must be required for all on duty police officers to wear cameras. If they complain of funding issues then they can sell the Mine Resistant Armored Vehicles off that the Pentagon gave them for scrap.

If Officer Darren Wilson had been wearing a camera, Mike Brown might still be alive today.

2. As Dr. Ben Carson famously said to President Barack Obama, “the politically correct police are out in full force at all time.” If all people regardless of color or gender are not allowed to have an honest discussion about problems in minority communities then there will be no progress on cultural issues. Vipers who feed off of social democratic constituencies in minority communities have a vested interested in silencing any debate that might show these emperors wear no clothes.
