Despite claiming that the weave posed a suicide risk, Officer Bernadette Najor of the Warren Police Department, was suspended and is now fired by the police department.

Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green said in a statement, “There’s a real simple thing: it’s called right and wrong.  And to me this is something that I won’t tolerate, I don’t think the citizens of Warren will tolerate it,”

“We are always in the process of reviewing things that happen and trying to make ourselves better and more responsible to the people we work for.”

According to Gregory’s lawyer, the woman’s hair was torn so badly that she has permanent hair loss.  The charges against Gregory were ultimately dropped.
