Arsenio Hall Crushes Kanye West’s Claims About Racism (VIDEO)

Television host Arsenio Hall set the record straight with Kanye West on why his popular show ended, and it wasn’t because of the white man, or racism.

West said in an interview that he didn’t want to end up like Hall, turning up too much” and getting “fired.” But Hall walked West back, saying, “Like usual, Kanye’s premise confuses the facts,” Hall said.

He went to explain why his show ended in 1994. “I just left my show, the white man didn’t do nothing this time,” Hall said. “Save that for when the white man do do something. Don’t muddy the waters of racism with my bullshit, because it was not racism. It was not a plot. I just left my show.”

Hall offered his own counter-critique of West, whose recent album featured a song called, “New Slaves.”

“I hate the word ‘slave’ used in songs. The f*ck outta here. Do you know what that word is? Do you know what that word is all about? Nobody can use ‘slave’ in pop culture. If you’re in the music business, you shouldn’t fuck with that word. Too serious an era. Too serious a problem in America. Using the word ‘slave’ in pop culture? There is no one that’s free to move around this country that should use the word ‘slave.’ Do you know what it meant to slaves?”
